To get some quick and intuitive idea of this work, you can see the following vedios.

If you can¡¯t play the AVI videos, please download the TSCC decoder , run it and then try again.

  • Notes:
the following movies are all based on the Vicsek-like model.
Big black circle indicates the initialization area.
Normal agents are represented by the little dot with red line pointing to the heading direction.
If two agents are neighboring, there will be a green line between them.
At every time step, there is one target normal agent for the shill to affect.
This target agent is highlighted by thick red line.
The shill is represented by a little dot with blue arrow pointing to the heading direction, and the blue circle around it indicates the neighborhood area.
The position of the centroid of the group is represented by a bigger black dot.

  • An new video for all the following examples (WMV, 10.3M).
  • One shill to help synchronization comparing with self-organized behavior (avi, 11.2M) .
In the video, the MAS is a Vicsek's model consisting of 30 normal agents. First the video shows the self-organized behavior without shills. As the result, the group does not synchronize. Then a shill using the 'consistent moving' strategy is added to the group. The system re-starts evolving from the same initial configuration. The shill tries to guide them to the same direction (all move to the right side).

  • Other examples of a Shill with Consistent-moving strategy to help synchronization of the Vicsek's model system:

    (1) Example 1(avi, 312K): 15 normal agents with one shill. neighborhood radius=200, speed of normal agent is 3, speed of the shill is 24. The shill wants to lead the whole group to move with heading 0 (moving to the right). The movie shows the first few seconds of the whole procedure.

    (2) Example 2 (avi, 1M): 100 normal agents with one shill. neighborhood radius=200, speed of normal agent is 3, speed of the shill is 24. The shill wants to lead the whole group to move with heading 0 (moving to the right). The movie shows the first part of the whole procedure.

    (3) Example 3 (avi, 1M): 30 normal agents with one shill. neighborhood radius=200, speed of normal agent is 3, speed of the shill is 12. The shill wants to lead the whole group to move with heading 0 (moving to the right). The movie shows the whole procedure.
